Police have issued an update after a man "with a crossbow" was shot by armed officers in South Wales following reports of "threatening behaviour".
A man was found in possession of a crossbow after police were called to a house on St Edward Street at 11.55pm on Friday, July 10, Gwent Police said.
A 21-year-old was "shot by officers with a police-issued firearm" at the scene, the force added.
He received first aid before being taken to hospital. In an update issued on today, police said the man remains in a stable condition, Wales Online reports.
A referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) following the shooting, the force added.
