Police Hunt Violent Offender After He Escapes Custody During Medical Treatment.

Greater Manchester Police have launched a manhunt for Marwan Jumaa after he escaped from custody while receiving treatment at North Manchester Hospital.

The 20-year-old had been transferred from a secure hospital facility for medical care. He is currently serving a custodial sentence for assault.

He is described as a black male of skinny build, around 5ft 10in tall with short dark hair, Jumaa has distinctive scarring or marks on the left side of his face.

He is believed to have connections to areas including Bury, Prestwich and Crumpsall in Greater Manchester, as well as Leeds and London.

Officers have stressed that members of the public should not approach him if seen. Anyone who spots him is urged to call 999 immediately, quoting log number 3544 of 14 July 2026.
