The "utterly heartbroken" family of a 16-year-old boy who died in a stabbing have described him as "such a kind son".

A murder inquiry was launched last Tuesday after #KhadeemParris, from #Motherwell in North Lanarkshire, died as a result of a stab wound following an incident at an address in the Abington area of #Northampton.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday and remains in police custody, Northamptonshire Police said.

In a statement issued by the force on Monday, the teenager's family said: "Khadeem was such a funny, smiling boy.

"He was always singing, he loved a joke, and he was such a kind son - he had a kindness inside of him.
